Stars and celebrities walked a glittering Blue Carpet at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco this evening ahead of the Closing Ceremony of the 63rd Monte-Carlo Television Festival, hosted by French TV anchor Laury Thilleman alongside singer, TV anchor and radio presenter Vincent Niclo.
Winners of the prestigious Golden Nymph Awards were announced during the ceremony in the Salles Des Princes theatre. Laureates were selected from 18 nominated programmes from 11 countries across the Fiction and News & Documentaries Categories as well as the Prince Rainier III Special Prize and received their awards in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco. Other honours were also presented including the Prix du Public in partnership with BetaSeries, the Monaco Red Cross Prize and the AMADE Prize.
The Honorary Golden Nymph Award, the Festival’s highest accolade bestowed upon a renowned professional for their extraordinary contribution to the entertainment industry, was presented to celebrated French actor and director Olivier Marchal (36 quai des Orfèvres, Ne le dis à personne, Braquo, Bronx...) by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.
During the course of the past week, the 63rd Monte-Carlo Television Festival has hosted a sparkling selection of first-look screenings both in and out of competition. 4 World premieres along with 2 International and 4 French premieres took place over the five-day Festival attended by more than 210 VIPS. More than 30 exciting and innovative public events gave fans incredible access to engage with their favorites, including a selfie session with the talent from Un Si Grand Soleil, plus autograph signings with cast members from hit shows Chicago Med, FBI, FBI: Most Wanted as well as with stars from the soaps The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless, who also attended fabulous Behind The Scenes events. The long-awaited 50th Anniversary of primetime drama Little House on the Prairie held a unique gathering and a special Tea Party. Celebrating its 1000th episode, NCIS stars took part in a Behind The Scenes event and the Festival’s official partner, SLA Paris, once again organized an amazing make-up experience for the public.
More than 1300 interviews were conducted by leading print, internet and TV journalists from more than 36 countries, to showcase brand new series set to launch internationally in the coming months.
The expanded and carefully curated Business Content sessions, boasted a line-up of leading industry experts, including Dan Cohen, Chief Content Licensing Officer at Paramount and President Republic pictures and CEO and Executive Producer Lori McCreary at Revelations Entertainment, joined jury and committee members, plus a number of nominated producers in competition, who all shared unique insights into the challenges and opportunities currently facing the global entertainment industry. H.S.H.
